WaterH BOOST Smart Water Bottle Review (after 2-weeks of use)

I’m one of those types of people who is always carrying around a water bottle. Simply put, I like to stay hydrated.

However, as an active person, getting my required intake of water while maintaining a busy lifestyle can sometimes become a bit overwhelming. By the end of the day, sometimes I know I haven’t drank enough water. I can feel it.

Recently, WaterH reached out and asked me if I wanted to try out their newest product to their extensive lineup of “smart” water bottles. Of course, I said yes; I was so excited to try out the WaterH BOOST. It’s an ingenious water bottle that connects to my phone and tracks my water intake, without any guesswork.

I’ve spent the last few weeks using it on a daily basis, and I must say; overall, I love it. But let’s get into the nitty gritty and let me outline everything I liked, and didn’t like about it.

What I Liked:

• Excellent App with Personalization – Setting up the WaterH BOOST is simple. Just install the WaterH app on your phone, and it will guide you through a setup procedure. It’ll ask your age, weight, height, and a few other details. From this, it creates a profile and recommends a daily intake that’s appropriate for your lifestyle. And if the water intake amount seems like “too much” for you, you’re able to adjust it as you see fit. Best of all, the app is laid out nicely in a manner that’s easy to navigate, tweak settings, and see insights without any guesswork.

• Accurate Water Intake Capabilities – The bottle itself holds a liter of water, and each time you take a sip, it counts the water to the precise fluid ounce. It translates this into a percentage, based on your profile, and counts every single sip; big and small.

• Built in LCD – The built-in screen near the spout of the water bottle is awesome. It’s quite small (about the size of a postage stamp), but it’s enough to keep you aware of your daily intake without needing to pull up the app each time you take a sip. And once you hit 100% for the day, it displays a cute little fireworks show to congratulate you! You can also setup reminders to drink that will illuminate the blue LED ring around the lid and/or send you notifications via your phone that remind you to drink. Pretty useful stuff!

• The Ideal Spout – The shape, size, and contour of the spout is excellent. I love how it’s not too large nor too small; it really is just right. It shapes to my mouth nicely and does not leak at all. If I want to take a tiny sip or a huge guzzle, I feel that the water comes out at a proper flow rate that allows me to do so.

• Burly and Built to Last – The bottle itself is all-metal with a beefy plastic lid. It’s insulated too, so I find that it holds cold water (or warm) quite nicely. I’ve exposed the bottle to a warm indoor environment (85 degrees Fahrenheit) and an outdoor cold environment (15 degrees Fahrenheit) and it seems to hold-in the water temperature with ease. The lid itself twists on snuggly, and creates a nice tight seal that gives you extra confidence in its build quality.

• Amazing Battery Life – On the back side of the lid is a small USB-C input for charging up the water bottle. In the last ~3 weeks, I only charged it once (when I started using it) and it’s now at 48% remaining. That’s pretty good! Essentially, I’d say you’d only need to charge it about once per month. Fantastic.

• Lid Flap Stays Out of the Way – The mechanism to open up the spout is quite nice. There’s a small button right above the tiny LCD screen that you press-in and the spring-loaded lid flap pops right open. When you sip, it stays upright and out of the way, which is great. Other water bottle lids can get in the way of drinking (if they’re fixed to the lid like this one), so I’m happy to report that the lid flap does not get in the way. Perfect for those (like me) who may have a slightly larger nose than most people.

• Perfect Handle – On the lid there’s a very nice handle that isn’t too large, but not too small, either. It pops up and snaps down tightly so it doesn’t get in the way, but still offers a great way to carry around the bottle while you’re on the go.

What I Didn’t Like

• Smooth Exterior – While the bottle is very high quality, built well, and quite heavy duty, I would have appreciated if it weren’t so smooth. The smooth exterior is visually aesthetic, but the grip on the bottle could be drastically improved if they added some texture or rubber to the exterior. However, it is definitely nice that it has a spiral-like decagon shape versus an all-round design. This gives it a little bit of added grip, but not much.

Final Thoughts

As you can see, I really do love the WaterH BOOST. While it’s the only “smart” water bottle I’ve personally tried for more than a few sips, it’s definitely my favorite water bottle.

Originally, I thought that the necessity to keep it charged or maintain its connection to the app would be a downside, but it definitely proved me wrong. It simply works, and it works very well.

I now have fallen absolutely in love with the WaterH BOOST and I plan on using it as my daily water bottle for many months (and years) to come. It takes the monotony out of getting my required intake of water, and makes it quite fun.

I now find myself drinking much more often and thus, getting my daily intake of water much easier than ever before.
