A few days ago i have bought an Inateck converter like the one above and have used it successfully with a new hard drive however, it seems that there is an issue with hard drives that have not been formatted under the Inateck converter and attaching such drive will prompt a “You need to format the disk in drive X: before you can use it” but works fine with my old Tecno USB 2.0 to SATA converter.
