QIDI officially unveiled its newest flagship machine, the QIDI Max4, at Formnext 2025 in Germany.
The company positioned the Max4 as a major leap forward in large-format consumer 3D printing, combining an expansive build volume with the high-precision characteristics typically reserved for industrial-grade systems.
The launch highlights QIDI’s continuing push to expand into advanced materials, bigger models, and more professional workflows.
QIDI Max4: The Largest Enclosed Desktop Printer with Top-Tier Specifications
The Max series has always focused on size and performance, but the Max4 takes that mission even further with a 390 × 390 × 340 mm build chamber — offering more than half again the capacity of its predecessor. This increased volume gives engineers, designers, and makers the freedom to produce oversized prototypes, large mechanical parts, and artistic pieces in one seamless print.

Its build plate uses a full-coverage heating system supported by a silicone heater, dense wire layout, and high-end insulation cotton to maintain a consistent temperature across the entire 390 × 390 mm surface. This stability helps prevent warping on larger prints and ensures strong first-layer adhesion.
The upgraded hotend is capable of high-flow extrusion at 40 mm³/s, allowing faster output and stronger layer bonding even for large geometries. With a hardened steel nozzle, the Max4 supports everyday filaments like PLA and ABS as well as more demanding composites such as carbon-fiber-reinforced nylon.

QIDI also introduced a new “Polar Cooler,” a targeted tool-head cooling system that reduces clogging and enhances filament reliability. Paired with the improved chamber-heating system—which reaches up to 65°C—the Max4 maintains ideal thermal conditions for advanced materials including ABS, ABS-CF, and PC. Airflow has been redesigned to distribute heat evenly throughout the enclosure to further improve part strength and dimensional accuracy.
QIDI Max4: Redefining the Standard for Stability and Precision
To push precision even further, the Max4 uses closed-loop motor technology on the X and Y axes. This system continually monitors motor position, corrects errors instantly, and stabilizes motion — drastically reducing the misalignment or layer shifts that can affect large prints.

The closed-loop design also minimizes torque ripple, which helps eliminate surface artifacts and produces cleaner, more uniform layers. At the same time, the motors run cooler and quieter, improving long-term durability and reducing internal wear.
On the Z axis, QIDI implemented 2 mm lead screws and an anti-backlash nut to produce smoother vertical movement and tighter tolerances. Additional enhancements include automatic bed leveling, industrial-grade linear rails, and reinforced 1.5GT belts — all tuned for long-term stability during high-speed printing.
QIDI Max4: Intelligence by Design, Usability in Focus
Beyond hardware improvements, the Max4 is equipped with a suite of intelligent features. A powerful processor and high-definition camera work together to enable AI-driven print monitoring. The system can detect print failures such as filament tangling or structural collapse, pause the print automatically, and notify the user — significantly reducing wasted material and time.

A revamped user interface and large, intuitive touchscreen streamline operation, making the machine easier to control even for beginners. For expanded creativity, the Max4 is compatible with the optional “QIDI BOX,” which supports up to 16-color or multi-material printing while providing filament drying up to 65°C.
By pairing a massive build volume with high-temperature performance, precise motion components, and advanced intelligent features, the QIDI Max4 is designed to meet the needs of creators who want to push boundaries — from multi-material prototypes to large functional parts. With its debut at Formnext 2025, the Max4 represents QIDI’s most ambitious step yet in the large-format 3D printing arena.
QIDI Max4 is now available for global pre-order.
Pre-orders for the Max4 are now open, and QIDI is launching special promotional offers during the Black Friday and Cyber Monday season to celebrate its release. The company states that this new flagship model is engineered to deliver higher efficiency, smarter operation, and a professional-grade printing experience for users around the world.
In addition, the QIDI Official Store will launch Black Friday and Cyber Monday Sales on November 18th. For those who are interested, stay tuned for updates from the official store.
