Facebook’s latest update resulted in a new “feature” being added that many people are unhappy with.
When you scroll down your feed, you may notice a new “refresh” chirping sound that’s incredibly annoying.
Is there a way to turn this off? Yes – there is. Here’s how:
1. Open up your Facebook mobile app.
2. On your home screen, tap your profile image icon in the corner of your feed. It will be located on the bottom if you’re using an iPhone, or the top if you’re on Android.
3. Scroll down and tap “Settings & Privacy.”
4. Tap “Settings.”
5. Scroll down until you see “Media” and tap it.
6. If you’re on Android you will see “Sounds in the app” whereas on an iPhone you will see “In App Sound”. Disable either of these.
7. Exit the Facebook app, re-open it, and you’re good to go. Your Facebook app will no longer make a refresh “chirping” sound when scrolling down your feed.
